A Religious Response to Global Warming

In Plymouth's mission statement, we declare that we are "citizens of the whole earth" and "we seek to make a difference in the quality of all life".   Plymouth is joining other religious groups in a grass-roots effort to reduce global warming one household at a time.  We bring in speakers, collect your burnt-out fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent bulbs for proper disposal, and have an informational table during fellowship time twice a month.   To become part of the Plymouth Green Team, email us!

• That more than 33% of the carbon dioxide emitted in the US comes from autos?
• That only 10% of the energy used by conventional incandescent bulbs goes to actually light the bulb, 90% is lost to heat.

We are asking each participating household to reduce their Carbon Footprint by 10%.  Use this web site as a resource to help you achieve your goal.  You can use our carbon calculator to reveal how big your carbon footprint is today.  Throughout the next year, see how many of our suggestions you can incorporate into your daily life to reduce your carbon footprint.   Then, a year after your first calculation, do it again and see how much you have reduced!
